Nathan Prescott

Even though I played this game before, I kind of forgot how badly Nathan was also treated. Like, I could sense I knew his character gets manipulated, but I didn’t remember as clearly just how much. And that doesn’t absolve him of his crimes at all. He was a bad person. But he was mentally ill and isolated and desperate.

He’s poster child for money doesn’t buy happiness, because his father just treated him like a burden. The father who of all people could have helped his son and been there for him just chose not to. Chose to treat him like an obstacle, like something worthless.

And then Jefferson finds him. He grooms him, keeps him useful for as long as he can and then scapegoats him.

His voicemail to Max is one of the parts where I cried a little. Because in that moment you realise, oh, he’s also just a kid. And then Jefferson kills him. The same man who groomed him, who is basically an allegorical rapist in what he does to these girls, just murders him too.

These are children. And yes, Nathan is an antagonist. But he’s also a victim and i feel for him so badly
