The break in :0
The junkyard might be less high stakes but this is my favourite part of the game. Up until now I get why this game might be considered slow, but here it feels like things really get going. Blowing up the door to the principal’s office with an actual bomb was so stupidly funny to me. Max Caulfield making a bomb, like she would never… but also she would, right? Why wouldn’t she? She can rewind anything now.
But the files. Seeing Nathan’s fake records and then the real ones, his drawings, “Rachel in the dark room” scrawled over and over and over again just gave me the creeps. But god it’s so gripping.
And I really do get lost in this episode. I can’t stop myself from smiling during the pool scene, or when they’re hiding from the security guards. The game is just so fun and inviting like that, it draws you in.
But at the same time there’s always that feeling underneath it, like oh man. I really know what’s going to happen. And then you’re back at the house and Max picks up the photo of William and god the next episode i already know is going to be grueling
