It’s just THE song. The most widely known song from the game and as much as people like to build it up into an allegory, like oh, a plastic body is about Rachel, this and that, I don’t really think so.
I think it’s just a nod to who Max is. Like, who listens to Syd Matters? Max does. She feels different from her peers, different music taste, different fashion, just a little more going on underneath. And that’s kind of the whole game isn’t it. It’s Max. I mean it’s Chloe, it’s Rachel, it’s everybody, but it’s Max.
